Wella T27 Toner Guide
Wella’s reputation as a reliable toner for blonde hair is well-deserved, with eight plus permanent liquid toners to select from. The abundance of options can be daunting, though. As you read on, you’ll discover the various Wella toner shades, examine before-and-after pictures of T27, and gain insight into whether T18 or T27 would be a better fit for your needs.
Introduction to Wella Toner Colors
To appreciate the transformative power of Wella T27 toner before and after pictures, it’s essential to grasp the fundamental building blocks of Wella’s blonde color palette. At its core, Wella offers eight distinct blonde shades, categorized into three overarching spectrums: silver, ash, and beige. This nuanced classification allows users to precisely target the desired hue, making it a vital consideration when examining the dramatic results achieved with Wella T27 toner.
Wella Toner Families
In the world of hair coloring, three notable shades stand out: Silver, Ash, and Beige. Each has its unique characteristics, making them perfect for achieving distinct looks. Silver is a versatile shade that can be achieved with Wella toners T28 and T10. On the other hand, Ash is a cooler-toned shade that requires toners T14 and T18. Beige, which encompasses toners T15, T11, T27, and T35, offers a natural blonde or honey blonde color.
Interestingly, Wella’s T27 toner falls under the beige family, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a sun-kissed, effortless look.
Which Color Wella Should I Use for My Skin Tone?
When it comes to selecting the right hair dye for your skin tone, having a cool undertone presents an opportunity to opt for a shade that complements your natural complexion. For individuals with cool skin tones, Wella’s T18 formula is often a more suitable choice than their T27 option.
Wella for Cool Skin Tones
When it comes to determining your ideal hair color, understanding your skin tone is crucial. Ash shades tend to look best on individuals with cool skin tones. To determine whether you have a cool skin tone, look for pink, red, or bluish undertones in your complexion. Alternatively, take a peek at the veins on the inside of your arm – if they appear blue, you’re likely sporting cool undertones. If this sounds like your skin tone type, Wella’s T14 and T18 toners are excellent options to consider.
In my personal experience, Wella T18 provides an especially appealing result.
Wella for Warm Skin Tones
When it comes to selecting a Wella hair dye shade, your skin tone plays a significant role. If you have warm skin tones with yellow or golden undertones, you’ll want to opt for a different range of shades than those suited for cool skin tones. Warm skin tones often have green-tinged veins and are more likely to be complemented by strawberry blonde, red, or brown hair.
Women with these characteristics can consider trying Wella’s T15, T11, T27, or T35 shades, all of which tend to produce a beige or golden blonde color. In my personal experience, having warm skin tones has led me to use both the lightest ash blonde (T18) and medium beige blonde (T27) from Wella. While these two shades may seem vastly different, they can actually work well together, depending on your desired outcome.
Should I Use Wella T18 or T27 Toner?
In the world of professional hairstyling, Wella is a well-known and respected brand that offers a wide range of products designed to meet specific needs. Among its numerous shades, two popular ones are Wella T17 and Wella T27. Both are used for coloring hair, but they serve distinct purposes. While some stylists may be curious about the differences between these two shades, others might wonder which one is more suitable for their clients’ unique hair requirements.
Wella T18: Best toner for a bold, fun, noticeable, summer look
At first, the thought of using Wella T18 sent shivers down my spine. Its grayish hue seemed daunting, to say the least. But fear not, for this magical toner holds a surprise in store.
As you apply the product and wait for it to set, your locks will transform into a striking, purple shade. However, once rinsed out, your hair takes on a dazzling, white-ish blonde appearance that’s nothing short of mesmerizing.
While Wella T18 may not initially appear natural, especially if you’re blessed with dark eyebrows like myself, I’ve grown to appreciate its uniqueness. It’s a fun and refreshing change from the norm.
For those seeking a platinum blonde look, Wella T18 is an excellent choice.
Wella T27: Best toner for a blonde, slightly more natural look
I opted for a change and went with Wella’s T27 shade for fall. As per their color charts, T27 is a medium beige blonde hue that boasts a subtle warmth. Unlike its predecessor, T18, this new shade didn’t undergo an unexpected purple transformation during processing. The outcome was strikingly similar to T18, but with a slightly darker tone. In fact, the result was so impressive that even my coworkers took notice, with one of them complimenting me on the fresh look.
What I appreciate most about Wella T27 is its incredibly natural appearance – it’s as if you’re not coloring your hair at all!

Summary: Try all Wella Colors. You can’t go wrong with T27
Wella’s range of toners provides a wealth of options for achieving the perfect blend of bleach and color on your locks. With such a diverse selection, it’s hard to go wrong with any choice. In fact, I’m looking forward to giving T35 a try next month – just keep an eye out for the forthcoming before-and-after pictures!
One of the most appealing aspects of toners is their relatively short-lived impact: they typically last around a month, allowing you to experiment with new shades and styles on a regular basis.
